How to turn off logging to console window

Nov 17, 2009 at 6:53 PM

Hi,

Is there a way to turn off messages logged by White to the console window? When I run my automation tool, I see a lot of log messages on the console (shown below) making it hard to read the messages printed by my tool. Also, what should I do to fix this message "Section: Bricks in SectionGroup: Bricks is not configured in Configuration file"

Thanks,

Vidya

You can change the configuration in the log4net.config file you are using. You can remove the console appender ref for example. Log4net is an open source tool, it provides a lot of documentation about how to configure it.

Thanks for the help.  I configured the log4net.config file and most of the console messages don't appear anymore. I still see the following messages (below) about Bricks.  What is Bricks? Which configuration file is it complaining about?  Please let me know how to fix this problem.

Section: Bricks in SectionGroup: Bricks is not configured in Configuration file
Using RecheckDurationInMilliseconds=100 for Bricks/Bricks

Thanks,

Vidya

Its not an error, its just saying that since you haven't configured it, it would use the default values.

Could you please provide instructions on how to configure it?

I still see the messages about Bricks inspite of configuring it in the App.config file. I placed the App.config file in the project root directory as well as in the bin\Debug directory. What is the correct location to place the config file?  What is the purpose of using Bricks?

Hello,

I included the app.config file but I still have the same problem. The White application fails (!!) and the console says:

Section: Bricks in SectionGroup: Bricks is not configured in Configuration file

Using RecheckDurationInMilliseconds=100 for Bricks/Bricks

What is Bricks, what is it used for and how should it be configured? Please give further information on this issue.

Thanks,

Andreas

Is it possible to filter out White's logging messages, and leave only your own ones, when using log4net?

I think using [root] by White could be an issue:
