Splash that is a Form instead of Pane

Nov 18, 2008 at 11:02 AM
I'm testing an application that has a splash screen. But this splash screen is not a Pane, it's a Form (Window).
Of course white doesn't caught it because white searches for Pane controls instead of Forms.
I understand the decision for searching for Panes, but can it be extended somehow to get other types of splash screens.
I haven't come up with a solution yet...

Have you tried looking for this window by looking at Desktop.GetWindows() or window.ModalWindow?

Yes.. Desktop.GetWindows() or Application.getWindows() catch the window. But I was trying to make a general way to launch the application and start testing. I would try to find a splash screen and wait for it to disappear and I was trying FindSplash(). I can workaround it but I thought it was something worth looking into it.

Fair enough. Can you let me know where does the splash window appear. i.e. who is the parent of this window (in terms of UIAutomation)
