Is White still maintained?

Looking at the source code at http://code.google.com/p/white-project/source/list it looks like the project is no longer maintained. Is this true?

I hope not

We're currently investigating a few options to automate the UI tests. If White is no longer maintained, and it seems not to be, that would be a major drawback...

The Google Code source is very old.

The source was moved to GitHub some time back https://github.com/petmongrels/white/commits/itemsmap

That was last updated in August 2011.

I am also interested in using White for a new automation project.   August 2011 seems like a while ago.  Is that simply because White was already a mature tool at that point?

Hi all,

I have talked to Viveksingh using Facebook, here his answer:

    • Hi Vivek,

sorry that I use Facebook to contact you, but your posts on the white webside are rare.
Is there any progress on the White project? Some people ask this in discussions. So I think it would be good to show presence. I think White needs aktive users so there is a good reason to work on it.

      Kind Regards
      Michael

    • Thanks for contacting. I haven't been able to spend any time on white. I can show my presence if that helps but I feel this project has to be taken forward by community

In my opinion there is no other alternative to White, and we should find people who wants to continue his work. This is many work and there should be more then 2 people who are able to spend some time here. I want to help, but I can not spend many time here.

Maybe we should discuss it, maybe vivek can give some of the people who wants to continue his work more rights on this project.

Any other ideas?

Throndorin,

White is also the best solution for me.  I'd be happy to contribute to the project, once I am comfortable with the code.

Is this the location for the most current code:

http://white.codeplex.com/SourceControl/list/changesets

The date doesn't seem to match the one on the current binary download.

Thanks,

Chris

OK, I see it now.  At first all I saw was the changelog.

Chrismead,

Sorry about that, I was linking to the changelog to show when the project was last maintained. I didn't stop and consider that it might get used as a permalink for the project.

Bruce,

No problem.  Thanks for your post.  It is building for me with no problems.

Cheers,

I would also like to see this project continue and would be happy to contribute where I can

Kind regards

I'd like to see the project continue. I use it for testing a Win Forms application and have previously submitted patches. Other than speed issues it already has all the functionality I need so I'm most likely to submit bug fixes for any bugs I encounter rather than enhancements.
