not able to recoganize customized list control

Mar 25, 2011 at 11:41 AM

HI

I am using UI spy to find the elements. The application is written using wfc and there is a customized list control which is not  recognized by UI spy.

I would like to know if it is possible to identify the element any other way.

If UI spy is not able to recognize then can we not automate it?

thanks

Hi

if UISpy don't see it, the developer "forget" to implement AutomationPeer for this element.

So you can try use the new feature from White 2.0 called "Custom Commands" (I have never used it myself).

If you have access to the developer => he should implement Automation Peer (best way)

Hi

Thanks i will look into "Custom Commands". Unfortunately the application is a legacy system and i doubt that the dev will implement Automation Peer.

when you meant "White 2.0" you mean White 0.20 ?

thanks

Hi

sorry for late reply, yes I mean 0.20

There is no magic to implement Automation Peer, and this will be he best way to get it testable.
